Student body president, Spanish National Honors Society president, Habitat for Humanity vice president, member of Beta Club, Tennessee Scholar, Health Occupation Student of America, and CHS soccer player, senior Audrey Birdwell is not the type to shy away from an opportunity.

Upon graduation, Birdwell plans to attend Lipscomb University in Nashville as a molecular biology major with a minor in Spanish. Her decision to attend Lipscomb can be accredited to their focus on Christianity. “My faith is very important to me, and I can’t wait to learn in an environment that will help me grow intellectually and spiritually,” Birdwell said.

Birdwell is a recipient of Lipscomb’s Presidential Scholarship, the highest scholarship receivable based on academics and ACT score. She is also in the running for the prestigious Trustee Scholarship. This full-tuition scholarship is only awarded to ten freshmen per year.

Birdwell’s accomplishments are not limited to academics. She has played soccer for 14 years, the last four as a member of the CHS soccer team. Birdwell also played for travel clubs UCUSC and All-In, and Tennessee’s state team under the Olympic Development Program. “Soccer has brought me so much joy, and I’ve loved every minute of it,” Birdwell said.

Birdwell has proven herself as a dedicated student, teammate, and friend throughout her years at CHS. One student said, “Audrey has always been like a big sister to me and I constantly see her trying to lift up others around her.” It is safe to say she knows how to put a smile on anyone’s face.
