Cookeville Regional Medical Center has taken Ricky Shelton into their ranks this month, and have appointed him the new Chief Strategy Officer. Currently, Shelton is the mayor of Cookeville, and has been for six years. Shelton has been a leader in Cookeville far before he became mayor.
As Chief Strategy Officer, Shelton will serve as consultant to the CEO and will oversee the planning, development, marketing, and other similar activities of the CRMC. Ricky will assume this position on January 4, 2021.
Paul Korth, the Chief Executive Advisor, has stated that he looks forward to working with Ricky and believes that Shelton will lead in the development of the facility’s business strategies. Shelton felt similarly, stating that he is greatly humbled to be given the opportunity and is excited to help shape CRMC’s future.
Shelton has a Bachelor’s degree in Science in Business Administration and Marketing at Tennessee Technological University. He has worked at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals since 2007, where he has received much attention and praise for the marketing growth and leadership he has shown there.
Being a lifelong Cookeville native, Shelton has always been active in the community and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the Upper Cumberland Regional Airport, Joint Economic and Community Development Board, E911, UCHRA, and the UCDD. Governor Bill Lee has also appointed him to the Tennessee Homeland Security Council.
We wish Shelton the best of luck in his new position.
