On August 5th, Kanye Omari West had a listening party for his upcoming album “Donda.” He previewed multiple tracks from the album including a track called “Hurricane” which features The Weeknd and Lil Baby. He then ended the show by being lifted into the heavens, where he belongs, in a large ultra-light beam.

Despite this, “Donda” isn’t out. In fact, this isn’t even the first time Kanye has pulled this. The album was supposed to be released one week prior on July 29. He held another listening party the night before, played what sounded like unfinished tracks, barely said a word, and left the show.

“Donda” has been highly anticipated for some time now. Many are hoping for a return to form for Kanye after his last work, “Jesus is King,” was met with mixed reviews. People are also hoping for a more personal album, as the name “Donda” comes from Kanye’s mother who passed away in 2007.

So what’s next? Is the album ever actually coming out? Is Kanye still working on the album? Currently, there is no official release date. Multiple dates have been thrown around, but nothing is confirmed. As for Kanye himself, he was previously staying in a small room in Mercedes-Benz stadium while working on the album.

Kanye has been in similar situations before. He has previously teased albums like “Yandhi” and “TurboGrafx16” only to never actually release them. Currently, all Kanye fans can hope is that West eventually drops “Donda” in all of its glory.
