As we live through the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more news begins to arise as the days go on. There are many ups and downs to the current state we are in, but progress seems to be made as we go on throughout the rest of the year.

Word of the COVID vaccine has spread rapidly throughout the country and may even begin to be given out as soon as the 14th of December to those in the front lines. We expect to see changes in cases with the vaccine, but people are still worried about the upcoming holidays.

As Christmas approaches, the threat of a spike in cases looms over the American people. Cases went up over Thanksgiving, but Christmas is an even larger holiday, and therefore has an increased risk. COVID cases are expected to increase wildly, even with the vaccine in place.

While this may happen, it is almost impossible to cancel Christmas. Although some may abide by any government warnings or recommendations, there are many who will ignore these warnings. Just like with wearing masks, avoiding Christmas celebrations may help, but not everyone is going to want to follow the rules.

Another problem is New Years’ Eve, another one of the most celebrated holidays with lots of parties and even more people. It is predicted that we might experience another large wave of COVID due to these holidays. Please exercise caution throughout the holiday season and stay safe.
