Recently, there has been a rise in controversy surrounding famous rapper Eminem. Lyrics and tweets from Eminem’s past have resurfaced, containing some extremely problematic things about women and minority groups.

A few weeks before Eminem's new release, Generation Z got a hold of some of his old lyrics. In an unreleased song from 1999, Eminem says, “I'm a superior male with these lines I’m spittin’, you're a stupid weak woman get back in the kitchen.”  The superior generations, Gen X and Millennials, know that it simply is just how the times were. However, the dumb Gen Z’ers used this as a perfect opportunity to rev up the toxic gossip train, making our legend the most recent victim of cancel culture.

“Heh, these kids. Always making something out of nothing. These little kiddos need to grow some skin and realize Eminem has been around since y’all were born,” said local Gen Xer Matthew Hall.

Once this lyric resurfaced, of course Gen Z went digging to find more, and if there is one thing that Gen Z is good at, it’s digging. Gen Z has found another lyric from Eminem, which is being taken way more seriously by the culture due to its violent intentions. It comes from another unreleased track from 1999, in it Eminem is heard saying, “I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, you stink, leave me alone, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, die.”

Obviously, this quote can come off pretty intense, but this is simply his style. His edgy, indescribable style is only understood by the wiser generations. Since Gen Z doesn’t understand, of course they are dragging his name through the mud, calling him names like “misogynistic,” “sick,” and “we are not trying to cancel him stop being delusional.” Wow, creative. The things these kids say because of the culture.

“Personally, I love Eminem. I used to listen to his songs with my parents as a kid. I really don’t understand what this is for,” dummy Gen Z CHS sophomore says.

These allegations are a lot and could possibly hurt or destroy someone's career. However, like the true boss-legend-man Eminem is, he immediately bounced back. He clapped back with an absolutely insane roast on the youngins’ in his new song “Trouble.” He raps nonchalantly, “You tryna cancel me, yeah? Gen Z me, bruh?” Wow, if there's one thing Eminem knows how to do, it’s clap back.

Eminem has had peasants trying to come for his crown for years, and he continues to remain superior. This situation just proves Gen X remains the superior generation.
