According to health specialists, there are simple measures that can be taken to help lessen the spread of the virus, also known as Covid-19. As of late March and early April, health officials have stated that even if you do not carry the virus it is helpful to wear masks. Wearing a mask carries a psychological reminder that social distancing is needed, and prevents the exhaling of air from one’s mouth out to others, along with the space around them.

Infants through children the age of two should not wear a mask because they may have trouble breathing, so if you have younger siblings, be mindful. Washing your hands is a very helpful way of killing germs, but it also makes sure that any surface you touch keeps bacteria away that you might have carried.

Though washing your hands is a useful measure to take dealing with any sickness or normal part of life, it is not enough to gain complete control of not catching the virus. Health departments are asking that you wipe down all surfaces that you interact with each day, including tables, keys, steering wheels, door knobs, and grocery carts when you go shopping.

Though social distancing is encouraged at this time, there are basic needs that can’t be ignored that may involve little to much interaction. Many restaurants and stores have come up with cleaning habits and healthy routines to make sure customers have a great and disease preventable experience, but that does not guarantee safety at all costs.

Workers set times and limits the number of how many people can be within a place at a time, still that does not give them the time to disinfect everything. Wipe down all surfaces that you come in contact with even if it says it has been cleaned, always take double caution. As far as doctors and scientists know, the virus does not stick to clothing, and only travels airborne.

It is nothing to get phobic about, as the Red Cross organization says most of the time you should be in your house unless there is an absolute emergency. For people who may have asthma, smoking habits, or a respiratory disease, it is strongly encouraged that you stay home and order any needs online if you can.

Social distancing is strongly advised from all medical care workers and also finding and practicing more healthy habits. Most states are closing schools for the rest of the year and encouraging work from home, so students take caution and enjoy time with yourself and your household.
