CHS school cafeteria is instituting a new environmentally friendly policy where previously disposable dishware will now be reusable glass. The dishes used will be vintage glass plates, cups, and bowls. Students are very excited about this change as it will make the cafeteria feel more classy while students are eating lunch.

Instead of grabbing the prepackaged food from the cafeteria, students will now grab a glass tray and other dishes which the lunch ladies will fill with classy food. Administrators are hopeful that this new policy will also help with the line at lunch.

Many students have complained about waiting in a line that takes longer to get through than they have to eat lunch. Because of this, the school board has now spent the time and money to bring us this new policy which will hopefully provide more structure to the line and hopefully make the line move faster.

Some students can’t wait for this to go into effect. They are very pumped to use vintage glass dishes this school year.

Junior Jefferson Atwell West Jr. said, “I’m so excited for the new dishes! I love to collect vintage plates so this definitely piqued my interest!”

On the other hand, some students don't feel comfortable with this. They are feeling a little nervy about this new introduction.

Sophomore Sam Powers said, “I’m scared that I'm going to create a bigger mess than I already am.”

Some students feel they are going to drop their lunch when walking to their seat. One student has already made a big mess.

Junior Jefferson Atwell West Jr. said, “Umm. It happened so fast, uhh when the glass and, uhh food was everywhere umm, the floor, and umm, it was on it. Most embarrassing thing to happen umm, so yeah,” when asked about the accident.

This policy might not be used again next year as students have already begun breaking and stealing the glassware.
