Dear Chargerette,
Valentine’s is coming up and I want to plan something really special for my boyfriend. He’s made each of our dates so amazing and I want to return the favor. I’m not sure what to do though since COVID-19 has limited our options. Any ideas?

Dear Planning Partner,
That’s so sweet! Since I don’t know him, these ideas might not be super special to him on their own. You’ll have to add all the personal details yourself. My mind is sort of overflowing with ideas, but I’ll limit it to five.
Bike around the city: Cookeville is a beautiful town! There are so many places you could ride around and just enjoy your time together. Cookeville has so many calm and pretty neighborhoods that y’all could ride through if you aren’t wanting to go on the busier streets.
Volunteer: A great way to grow closer and improve your community at the same time is volunteering somewhere in town. COVID-19 has left many people in need, so you shouldn’t have any trouble finding somewhere to offer your help.
Play with Chalk: Letting your inner child shine through is always a blast and can be surprisingly romantic. Y’all could draw pictures and play hopscotch together. Obviously, that isn’t a date by itself, so you could prepare a picnic and eat it in your front yard while the two of you take a break from your sidewalk masterpieces.
King Midas Date: I read about this idea a while back and thought it sounded fun. You go to a thrift store, find fun items and take them home. You’ll have to get some supplies for this, but basically, y’all will just spray your new, cheap treasures gold! It could be a fun group activity too.
Flowers: A nice thing y’all could do to uplift the people around you is to go buy some flowers and hand them out to random people around town. It’s sort of like a backward date. Instead of y’all giving flowers to each other, together you’re giving flowers to others. You could combine this idea with the bike ride and hand out flowers to people you see while you’re riding your bikes around.
Each of these ideas is a little unique, but I think that’s important for a Valentine’s Day date. Every other date you go on is important, but there’s something special about Valentine's Day and I think any of these dates would be one to remember.
Until next time,
Chargerette
