The COVID-19 pandemic is keeping many at home, including the students of Cookeville High School. Working from home can cause anxiety and for many to go stir crazy. However, there are methods to help make working from home productive and not stressful.
First, make a schedule and keep to its hours. Knowing when assignments are due will allow better delegation of time. Sticking to the hours assigned will help students and employees maintain a work-life balance.
Secondly, have a separate space to do work. Keeping to the same area all day everyday will blur the line between work and relaxation. Staying in the same place may also cause some to feel claustrophobic.
Next, move around. The human body needs adequate blood flow to perform properly. Standing, stretching, and walking will improve blood circulation. According to Premier Vein and Vascular, a specialty clinic, the circulatory system is responsible for “nourishing tissue from the tips of your toes to your brain”. It is imperative to have proper blood circulation to function properly.
Then try to socialize. In a time of social distancing, it is easy to feel isolated. Keeping in touch with other students or employees will enforce the feeling of community.
Finally, try to keep a positive mind set. Positivity will help increase an individual’s productivity and keep their mental health stable.
